DaveScottshow 3-30-2011 A candid common sense discussion on Nevada Education and politics with @endrunlv Director of The Endrun Project
Apart from apathy ...'Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.' (Dr. Martin Luther King)
Through no fault of their own the education of Nevada's children has been thrown under the bus for far too long.
Where it comes to the worst of the worst, education at the top of the list ...Nevada out ranks the nation, developed and developing nations combined.
Our approach is from a non-denominational, non-partisan global perspective not associated with any political, cultural, or religious organization or ideology.
Every child regardless of cultural background or financial means is an asset for America's future ...not a political football nor should be prejudiced or impeded from a complete education in any way due to circumstances being from no fault of their own.
At the risk of our own national security our nation's ranking and productivity (over years ...Nevada being consistently at the bottom of states' rankings) has fallen to the extent that developing countries are beginning to pass us by.

Good chemistry: Creating more scientists in MarylandBy Karla Murthy February 11, 2011
'Here’s a quote from a presidential commission on the state of our education:
What was unimaginable a generation ago has begun to occur–others are matching and surpassing our educational attainments.” That commission released its report in 1983. The report was called “A Nation at Risk ”. So here we are nearly 30 years later and not much has changed. The United States ranks 27th among developed nations in the proportion of college graduates with degrees in science or engineering. Two-thirds of all college students who begin as science and engineering majors don’t complete that degree. So how can we change that figure? We found one university where they’ve come up with an answer to that question.
Alison Stewart visited the University of Maryland Baltimore County to find out how that school is turning more college students into scientists.'
However, as many people even developing countries are finding affective ways to improve education despite a lack of financial resources, these posts with videos provide a basis for proven alternatives with exceptional but replicable results.
If Nevada wants their education as badly as others who are passing us by ...it will happen even in the lean times.
The darker side of Nevada education however, isn't the current budget crisis ...but why Nevada ranks in the pits now year after year for so many years.
Reform as demonstrated in the video above and in the previous two parts of this '2011: Nevada Education So ...How do we fix this?' series must be holistic.

Its All About Choice
Everyone on the planet has personal responsibility in determining how and where they deal with current events and where they find themselves at the end of it all.
The joke is going to be on those who insist on business as usual and looking for answers in all the wrong places or believe they already have the answers.
There are winning choices we can make.
As to education, if there's a will there's a way!
With a little common sense, if State elected officials and employees paid for by the People of Nevada can't get the job done, then the People of Nevada can do it by applying the principles proven to work on the videos in the previous posts. .
Your constructive comments on this post will help take us to the next level.
'The challenge is to get sheep to quit thinking and acting like sheep and start thinking and acting like foxes ...and time is running out.'

Watch out that no one deceives you! Matthew 24
3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 5 But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist; 2 Timothy 4, 3-5
Even the 'religious' cling to their religion rather than God ...but, when all else is failing as it is right now ...God says:
'If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'
